Mistress America Music By Dean Wareham & Britta Phillips

Mistress America is the new film by writer/director Noah Baumbach (While We’re Young, The Squad & The Whale). Starring Greta Gerwig, Mistress America tells the story of Tracy (Lola Kirke), a lonely college freshman in New York, having neither the exciting university experience nor the glamorous metropolitan lifestyle she envisioned. But when she is taken in by her soon-to-be stepsister, Brooke (Greta Gerwig) – a resident of Times Square and adventurous gal about town – she is rescued from her disappointment and seduced by Brooke’s alluringly mad schemes.

The score is composed by Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips who previously collaborated with director Baumbach on The Squid and The Whale. In addition to their synth-driven, electronic score, the soundtrack features songs by Paul McCartney, Hot Chocolate, Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark and Suicide. Fox Searchlight Pictures is releasing Mistress America in North America on August 14.
