Directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, Loving Vincent is the first fully painted animated film. It tells the story of painter Vincent van Gogh and his mysterious death via depiction of his artworks..
Each of the film’s 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, using the same technique as Van Gogh, created by a team of 115 painters. The film premiered at the 2017 Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
This unique film features a beautiful and emotional score by composer Clint Mansell (Black Swan, Stoker, Requiem For A Dream). The soundtrack also includes Starry, Starry Night, the end credit song performed by Lianne La Havas and produced by Clint Mansell.
Good Deed Entertainment is releasing Loving Vincent in New York on September 22nd and will expand the release throughout the following weeks.
