We’re All Going to The World’s Fair Music By Alex G

Directed by Jane Schoenbrun, We’re All Going to The World’s Fair is a haunting coming-of-age story that follows a shy teenage girl named Casey (played by Anna Cobb) who becomes immersed in an online role-playing horror game.

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alex G releases his first ever film score that is available now. The album features both original vocal tracks and score music written by Alex G for director Jane Schoenbrun’s contemporary indie thriller. Ranging from the musician’s signature style of lo-fi bedroom pop to more ambient, sprawling instrumentals, the expansive soundscape imbues the film with an intimacy and emotionality capturing the search for connection at the heart of Schoenbrun’s story.

Of the score, We’re All Going to the World’s Fair director JANE SCHOENBRUN says, “Whenever it rains at night I put on Alex’s score and listen to how the rain on my roof sounds mixed with Alex’s beautiful, lonely music. I’ve been a fan of Alex’s records for so long, and it was literally a dream come true to get to collaborate with him on my first feature. I can’t imagine a better or more moving accompaniment to the film.”

After premiering at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, We’re All Going to The World’s Fair is now in theaters and on digital!
