The Witcher: Season 3, Vol. 1 Music By Joseph Trapanese

As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line — or risk losing each other forever.

Composer Joseph Trapanese returns to the series after scoring the show’s second season, this time enlisting the help of Polish folk metal band Percival Schuttebach who contribute their expertise in historical Slavic music to deliver an authentic soundscape for the world of The Witcher. Available everywhere now, the album features both an original score as well as original vocal tracks written by Trapanese for the highly anticipated third season of Netflix’s epic fantasy series.

Of the soundtrack, Trapanese says, “I am excited to share another sneak peek with the fans into our work on Season 3 of Netflix’s The Witcher. The new season’s storyline explores Geralt’s mythology more deeply and boldly than ever before, and demands an equally compelling and grand score. I couldn’t be more thrilled by Percival Schuttenbach’s incredible performances on ‘Time of Contempt’ and throughout our new soundtrack.”

In addition to the original score tracks, The Witcher: Season 3 – Vol. 1 also features two new vocal songs performed by the series’ actors, including “Extraordinary Things” featuring actor Joey Batey as the show’s fan-favorite bard, Jaskier. Having performed season one’s viral hit “Toss A Coin to Your Witcher” and its follow-up “Burn Butcher Burn,” Batey continues to be a mainstay across the series’ music, yet again contributing his vocals to “The Ride of the Witcher,” an anthemic collaboration between Batey, Trapanese, and Percival Schuttenbach as well as the first introduction to the music of the new season.

The Witcher: Season 3 is now playing on Netflix.
